Indian
River County River covers an area of 511 square miles located approximately 190
miles south of Jacksonville and 135 miles north of Miami on Florida's east
coast. In 1997, Indian River County and Vero Beach, the county seat, had
populations of 104,605 and 17,787 respectively. Indian River County offers a wide variety of choices, from the sophisticated coastal barrier island communities on the east to the rural, agricultural city of Fellsmere on the west. Residents in between love the small town atmosphere, and they relish all of options this beautiful community offers. It's easy to see why Disney chose the area for its "Old Florida" style seaside Vero Beach Resort, with spacious inn and villa accommodations surrounded by the legendary quality, service, and imagination that you've come to expect from Disney. Indian River County offers a pleasant, easy-going
lifestyle, in sharp contrast to the hectic pace of Florida's more urban areas.
Communities are attractive. It is truly a good place to raise a family. Schools
are notable; in fact, excellent. Health care is state of the art with more
leading edge facilities on the way. The level of culture is exceedingly diverse.
The Indian River Mall and neighboring retail centers Horizon Outlet Center and
Vero Beach Oceanside Shops make shopping exceptional...and it's getting better
all the time. Restaurants give local people some fine dining choices. By
reputation, they also attract out-of-town patrons. For more information about Indian River County, click one of the links below for more information!
